Excerpt from the Patscheider Chronicle: (1988 written by Wilhelmine Jarosch-Patscheider-Kniely):
Moravia is the unequal sister of Bohemia, with which it is usually mentioned in the same breath and in whose shadow it always stood a little. The villages are far apart and the fields stretch seemingly endlessly; towns, residences and market towns are loosely embedded between them, and the peaceful breath of rural life spreads over them as well. For Moravia’s lifeblood was the agricultural way of life. The year was measured by sowing and harvest, by church fairs and pilgrimages.
The duchies of Jägerndorf, Troppau and Ratibor, once formed from the Great Moravian Empire, passed in 1526 by inheritance to the House of Habsburg. This Austrian Silesia, which Maria Theresia after the Seven Years’ War called „Zaun vom Garten”; of Silesia remained, this area is roughly the homeland of the maternal ancestors Jarosch and Rosner.
The Jarosch and Humhal families, together with their related families Kostrziczin, Luzarin, Martina, Hofmann and Benesch, were not only farmers but also craftsmen and tradesmen from the Ratibor and Troppau district.
The Rosner family and their female ancestors Wilpart, Schwarz, Ludwig, Bahsner, Mosler, Schwanberger, Bayer, Herber, Weinmann, Tengler and Andratschke were exclusively farmers with land and forest holdings in Braunsdorf and Lobenstein in the former Duchy of Jägerndorf.
The Jarosch siblings were all very resourceful. Despite their parents’ initial difficulties, they all received a solid education and showed a keen interest in many cultural matters.
- Brother Leonhard spoke five languages and worked as a head waiter in London, later at the Paris Ritz Hotel. Unfortunately, he contracted a lung disease; death overtook him as early as 1907 in Merano.
- Sister Marie, called Aunt Mitzi, was a very cultivated and well-traveled lady, and most recently worked as procurist at a textile company in Teplitz-Schönau. After her forced expulsion from CZE, she died in 1952 in the Rheingau.
- Sister Sophie can be found working as an educator even in the most remote parts of the Danube Monarchy, e.g. in 1898 in Lemberg. She also died as early as 1917 in Troppau.
- Heinrich, the master baker from Vienna, also founded his family there; his six children from his marriage to Rosa Wehrl all remained in Vienna.
- Sister Antonie married Rudolf Proksch; three children came from this marriage, all of whom also settled in Troppau.

Comment:
The spelling of Marianna Kostrzycza is inconsistent even on the same page. Where the caron actually belongs, whether over the r or the z, cannot be determined, so I write the name without the caron. It is also quite obvious that Maria Anna became Marianna.
Jakob Jarosch’s occupation is listed as "Gärtler", presumably a spelling error; it was probably meant to be "Gärtner" (gardener).
